When I joined Mr clarence’s class in JC1, my foundation in math was weak and I struggled to tackle the many questions during math tests and examinations. However in tuition, I was able to gain confidence in math. This confidence was gained through the multiple practices that mr clarence gave in class and the guidance that he provided especially when I was unsure of how to solve the math problems. Without his help, I would not have struggled through JC math! After my 2 years of math tuition, I can say confidently that my foundation in math has been strengthened greatly. The confidence to tackle math problems in the exam hall during A levels was crucial in getting the results I had hoped for!
Also, when we were discouraged in class and struggled with applying the math concepts, he never failed to encourage us whether it be through verbal encouragements or food!
Mr. Cheng is a very proficient teacher, who bases the pace of the lesson not on speeding ahead but on his student’s ability, ensuring that everyone understands and no one is left behind. However, his lessons are definitely not sluggish either, as he wants to make sure that everyone reaches their fullest potential. Joined in the later half of my A’level year, but Mr Clarence was still very welcoming and very patient with me! He’s very open to questions both online and offline which was really helpful, especially when you’re stuck doing certain questions and have no one else to ask. He also provides ‘training camps’ or revision workshops in the holidays (i.e June) for students who need the extra practice, as well as sessions to do a full 3h practice paper and review it after! Mr Clarence clearly cares for his students which is definitely a bonus.

Mr Cheng is undoubtedly the best type of teachers out there for any student. Kind, passionate and careful are some words that describe him, and they definitely cannot encapsulate the extra mile he goes for every student. I was taught by Mr Cheng for about 2-3 years when I was in secondary school. I fervently remember him as a great teacher who is willing to go the extra mile for his students – I will never forget how he hand wrote notes for every single math topic and had them photocopied for the entire class. His notes were really succinct and useful, and it was also then, that I realised I learn so much better with consolidated notes like his. Mr Cheng would always ensure that we understood the concepts taught in class. Given his abundance in teaching experience, he was aware of the concepts which students tend to be confused about, and would spend time explaining them more thoroughly. His lessons were of a good pace and they were easy to follow. His dedication towards his students did not go unnoticed as well – he’s always more than willing to clear our doubts before and after class. I eventually got an A1 for math and even as I moved on to junior college, math remained my strongest subject – I also got an A for H2 math in A levels. Thank you Mr Cheng, for spurring my interest in this subject that many may deem boring/difficult, for playing a huge part in building my strong foundation in math and most of all, for your patience and thoughtfulness! Mr Clarence is one of the only teachers in my life that actually made me enjoy math. While I used to constantly fail maths in secondary school, he helped me to clinch an A for H2 Math in the A-Levels. He is extremely dedicated and answers my queries almost 24/7. Was taught math by Mr Alex for only about 1 year and I got pretty good results. I failed maths since sec 3 and was really hating it but Mr Alex managed to get my interest by getting me to understand the fundamentals.
He was patient and helpful throughout which definitely aided me in coping with the stress and also the short time span to literally re-learn maths right before the O’levels. I was only thinking about passing maths during the O’levels due to the last minute help provided but I went from an F9 to a B3 instead. I was really happy with my result as it was so unexpected.
